Setting New Industry Benchmarks: JIECANG Hosts National Furniture Standards Review Conference

On August 14, the National Furniture Standards Review Conference—covering seven key standards including Office Furniture–Office Chairs and Electric Standing Desks—was successfully held in Xinchang, Zhejiang.

The event was hosted by the National Furniture Standardization Technical Committee and co-organized by JIECANG together with leading research institutes and universities. More than 120 experts and representatives from quality supervision institutes, furniture associations, and enterprises across China attended the meeting, making it a highly influential industry gathering.

Leading the Upgrade of Electric Height Adjustable Tables Standards

As one of the first enterprises to help draft China's initial standard for electric height adjustable tables (QB/T 5271-2018), we again played a core role in this upgrade. With more than a decade of expertise, we brought both technical know-how and market insights into the revision, which strengthens safety, performance, and testing requirements to guide sustainable industry growth.

Extending from Single Products to Smart Ecosystems

Electric standing desks are no longer just furniture—they are an essential part of smart and healthy workplaces. JIECANG has actively advanced the standardization of smart standing desks, moving beyond single-product requirements to include system-level solutions that cover manufacturing, application, and quality evaluation.

In May 2024, the group standard Smart Furniture – Standing Desks (T/CNFA 027-2024)—led by JIECANG—came into effect, providing the first unified framework for smart desk design, production, and testing. In June 2023, JIECANG joined hands with Zhejiang University and SUNON to launch the industry's first Guidelines for Smart and Healthy Offices, offering comprehensive guidance for workplace design, construction, and operations.

Meanwhile, JIECANG has also participated in drafting the upcoming national standard Furniture Smart Rating and Labeling. This will introduce China's first unified grading system for smart furniture, classifying products from Level L0 to L4 based on functionality, connectivity, usability, and expandability.

Sharing Innovation at JIECANG Headquarters

On August 15, conference participants visited JIECANG's headquarters for an in-depth look at our innovation capabilities. Guided by company leadership, experts explored applications of linear actuator technology across office, education, medical and elderly care sectors.

The visit highlighted how traditional furniture can be transformed through smart motion solutions. One industry expert commented:
